Help with transition

OK, here's the situation... I had a hen hatch out a single chick three weeks ago. She is starting to get a bit restless in the sectioned off part of the run I have her and the chick in, though she still seems to be a good mother. I'm worried about how to transition a single chick into the flock. I'm guessing at three weeks old it wouldn't stand a chance, even with mom. I also don't want him to be alone when I move the hen out. I've found chicks on craigslist hatched one day after mine. Should I get one for company? Also, could I add a three week old chick in with mom and her chick or wait until I move her old? I'd appreciate any advice.

She may accept another chick and might not. It's hard to say.

Right now everything is good so I don't want to upset that. I just hate to think of the chick by itself for so long after the hen decided to go back with the flock. Any thought on if shed be able to keep him safe so young? I have a coop and large run.
