You just have to change 2 or 3 times a day. I'm not sure if your ducks a pets, but hers are and she cares for them everyday.

ours are pets and we love them, they do have 2 heated bowls that we refill a couple times a day but those are made so they can’t climb in them and swim. we care for them everyday too.

They will be fine bathing in a tub in negative temps. Mine get access to warm water in a tub outside to keep their feathers in top shape. I allow mine a couple times a week as long as temps are above -5C.

ours get indoor baths now because when it was below like 20°F we noticed ice would freeze on their backs for some reason

It really isn't a issue although do what you think is best. Mine have no problem keeping their feathers in condition.

If he isn’t water proof I don’t think I’d let mine bath outside in freezing an below temps.
