So of course We are having a mite break out durning a rough spot and will be trying avc and garlic jucie on the chickens themselfs but Could I use 7dust spray on the run and coop if I remove the flock first? I need this answer asap. I understand that it is off lable and I am okay with it as it won't be used long term hopefuly this will be the only time as I hate pestisides but I need to get this done a family memeber has a hardware store and is willing to give me some. it is a small store not a lot of options.

Permethrin is a very common insecticide. I would stick with that as it is safe for the birds and very effective. It is sold as a concentrate that you would then dilute per the label.

You will need to completely clean out all the bedding from the coop and nest boxes and spray it down with Permethrin. Mixing it up according to the directions on the bottle in a garden pressure sprayer would be the easiest way to spray down the coop paying particular attention to the nooks and crannies where the mites like to hide during the day. Once the coop is dry you can rebed it with fresh bedding.

Then spray under each wing, under the vent in the fluff, the chest and hackles of each bird getting down to the skin.

All this will need to be repeated in 7 days and possible again at 14 days as you need to kill any mites that hatch from the eggs left behind.
