hey i got my pet dove a few months ago and she recently started to lose a lot of her feathers , today when i cleaned her cage i noticed that there was white flakes at the bottom of her cage it seemed that it was part of her feathers . When I first got her she was COVERD in lice. I'm not sure what to do, i don't have money for the vet right now, hopefully its just lack of calcium or vitamins, her nose, eyes and beak are clear there no mucus or anything. dose anyone know any good vets in san Francisco???? or any good supplements that I can give her??? please help.

Pictures will help. Did you treat her for the lice? Sounds like this could just be a seasonal molt. The flakes you see are pieces of the feather quills which are shed as the feather grows, which is normal. Are the feathers growing back?

It's molting season... sounds normal
