I have two cockerels; one that I intentionally bought that is supposed to be a Whiting True Blue and one that turned out to be my mystery chick from McMurray hatchery. Up until recently I thought one was definitely a blue laced red Wyandotte and he was the mystery chick, and my grey and white lil roo was my Whiting true blue - that I had ordered. Until a few days ago when I cam upon a website featuring Whiting True Blues- that had pics looking similar to my blue laced red roo. I’m truly stumped and hope to get some input. My grey and white Roo is Dusty and my blue and red is Leo. They are both the sweetest and am soon to pair with the pullets they love.

I think you are correct with your original idea. Whiting True Blues seem to have pea combs like your grey bird. Your other bird seems to have a rose comb.

I agree with your original guess. Dusty is the Whiting True Blue and Leo is your Blue Laced Red Wyandotte.

I agree as well! Dusty has different coloring that’s mine but looks very similar to my Whiting.

Dusty also appears to be bearded! Which I think is another sign that it’s a Whiting. Mine is named King Charles the first and I love his big ol white mutten chops!!!!

You were already right - he looks like my chicken Bubba - he is differently a Blue Laced Red Wyandotte - he is so beautiful!
