I was just given 6 chickens. Otherwise they were going to be let lose for coyote bait. I put my dog run in the garage and have them in there. I have a pet house duck that lives in the house so I gave them some of his food to the chicken along with some mealworms and stuff that I had frozen foe smoothies. Like blueberry strawberries apples and kale. I have no clue what I'm doing and don't get paid until the 19th. They have a heat lamp also. But what do I need to do?

Well the person who I got chickens from just up and left state. So I just ordered all flock food. And I live in a pretty rural area. So I was given straw for bedding and some cracked corn.

Straw for bedding is fine, but they shouldn't live on cracked corn nor would I even give that to mine as a treat as it's not that great nutritionally. If it's all you've got, then not much you can do about it though.

Scrambled eggs, mashed potatoes without salt added, dry or cooked oatmeal, finely chopped kale, apples, lettuce, squash, blueberries, strawberries, etc., are a few ideas of something you could also give them to get them by until your chick feed gets there. Don't let them fill up on any of that, but a good portion won't hurt.
