Help!

I have silkie eggs in an incubator. I have never hatched anything from day 1 before but I got eggs from a friend free so I figured I would try. It is a still incubator, I have it set to 101. I have different thermometers inside. One is reading 98, one is 98.6 one is reading 96 and one's is reading 100. Which one do I follow? Should I bump the temp up higher?

On degree doest matter. Many people successfully hatch eggs in still-air incubators, especially small tabletop models. However, the margin for error is smaller, so you’ll need to be extra precise about egg turning.

I was you:

• Set temperature to 101.5- 102 if it is running low
• Even slight temperature drops or spikes can affect hatch timing or chick viability.
• Still air often means CO2 builds up more easily, especially late in incubation.
• Ventilation holes must stay open—never block them.

I have done it without a professional incubator, and hatched everything from chickens to parrots.
