HELP!!!!!

One of my EE hens is wheezing BAAAAAD!!!! It actually sounds like she's humming instead of breathing. It just started about 2 hours ago, she doesn't appear to be in any pain but I'm wooried about her. What can I do????

Have you checked her airways? Did something get stuck in her throat? Is she listless? Or just acting normal with a sound? Eating? Drinking?

It's common this time of year with the changes in weather for chickens to come down with respiratory problems. I have found that putting some ACV (Apple Cider Vinegar) with the mother in their water (about 1 or 2 tablespoons to a gallon) helps to break up the congestion. The Mother is the sediment from the apples that has not been processed out. This kind of vinegar, which is organic, can be found at health food stores, though some grocery stores sell it. The most common brand is by Bragg. If you begin by calling your local groceries asking for organic ACV or by the name Bragg you might find one that carries it, if not call your health food stores. This stuff works great and will not hurt the birds that don't have the congestion, in fact it will help them keep from getting it, too.
