some of you probably reciginize me from my other post not fair! (please dont give me grief about living at home im taking everyones advice andh ave been talking to the finacial help dept at 3 community collages and have gotten rid of my fish) well my sister brought the kitten in and she refuses to buy food already and litter or a litter box and decideds that she is just going to use a cardboard box and paper towels and my cats senior diet cat food which i told her NO that ive bought and paid for it and not to mention an 8 week old kitten cant live long on a senior cat diet so she says it will share the dogs food. please please can someone help me out here what do i do with this kitten it cannot live like this its going to die and ijust cant stand by and let that happen im afraid if i post ads for it she will see them or if i take it to the animal shelter she will see it online not to mention the shelters have so many unwanted cats and kittens i dont know what to do! any ideas would appreciated!

Your sister is acting like an @$$

As far as I see it you have 4 options

1. Feed it and just deal with it until you move out.

2. Take it to the pound/give it away, but I don't think that solves anything.

3. Call Animal Control on her

4. Let it die

Add one more option. Talk to your parents and let them handle it. Tell them how you already feel about downsizing your animals that you HAVE taken care of, and that you are not willing to take on this additional responsibility. The reality is that they should tell her "NO." And if they do not, then it is up to them to care for it if she does not.

Take your cat food and lock it up where she cannot feed it to the kitten--you are right, it is the wrong choice for a young kitten, and your sister should not be demanding things from you that cost you $$.

i hate doing this! this happens all the darn (excuse me) time! my mom says"kittens arent so bad so long as it doesnt pee all over" well i told her it will becuase its litter box trained not paper towel trained shes teaching it to urinate on paper and cloth. im trying to find the name of the person she got the kitten from with no luck maybe if she found out how her kitten is being treated she would ask for it back since tis a freind of my sisters but i know my sister is lieing thru her teeth to her about it i mean heck my sister lies to herself about it saying "i take excellent care of my pets" i think i might post an ad on craigslist asking for help maybe someone nearby could take the kitten in. but if i start going to collage im not hualing 4 cats with me 3 are enough one of the cats i have now was one my sister bought and refused to take care of so i kept her i dont regrette it but i just cant take on anymore. and i just cant allow it to become ill suffer and die. i wonder if one of the pet stores would take it in? theres one that works with the humane society and have kittens from the shelters there sometimes?

i hate this. what would you guys do if you were in the same situation? am i doing the right thing? should i just ignore it?

You need to get out of that house whether it's for college or a job. No one but you can change your situation. Only you can stop them from continuing to have their problems become your problems.

I'm not much of a candy coater...so, in a nut shell, you need to stop enabling her or saying anything about it's care or anything...stay out of it except to call animal control. Play dumb if they ask if it were you... If you can plan it to move out before it happens I would.

Kitty would disappear (shelter), and then so would I (anywhere but there!). I know it s a tough place for you to be in. You sound like a really good person.
