One of my mallards got a flight feather stalk yanked, and it bled a lot. The stalk kind of hangs off the wing at a weird angle, and when he flaps his wings he'll only move that one a little then pull it back in. What should I do? I put styptic in and around it when I first saw it and it stopped most of the bleeding, but today he flapped and I got hit with a drop of blood, and the feathers around it are stained. The one that was yanked, the stalk is very visible and the feather looks really long, but the rest growing in on that wing I can just barely see the feather tips around the cut feathers.
Should I try to remove it or just leave it?

Hens go broody when you don’t want them to… and won’t go broody when you do.
