sex links: what kinds are there and which are the best...please hurry(need to decide before tomorrow)

There are all kinds of sex links. Most are going to be fairly good layers. They are essentially crosses between two pure breeds that result in the pullet and cockerel chicks having slightly different coloring straight out of the eggs through a gene linked to the sex of the bird. This makes it easy for the production houses and hatcheries to sex them without skilled labor.

As far as which are better, most are pretty good versatile birds. I would say choose based on what color adult birds you want and/or eggs. They have several color variations and some are very nice looking birds.

I would suggest going to a few hatchery websites and checking out the adult bird pics- Mt Heathly, Meyer, Cackle, Privett,Ideal, Townline, Murray McMurray, etc.
