HELP!!! Its that time of year to fire up the incubators and we are having so much trouble! We can and do hatch perfect happy healthy chickens all day long but have such bad luck with quail and pheasant. Our hatch rate with the quail/pheasant is awful and a lot of the ones that do hatch have bad legs/toes. Any ideas??

Does your incubator have an automatic turner?Pheasants are difficult to hatch, sometimes the hen will not let the male breed her and sometimes the male doesn't want to breed the hen.You need to have a good pair of breeders to produce fertile eggs.Do you turn your eggs when you are storing them? They need to be turned both in storage and in the bator at least 3 times per day. Also are your adult birds related?
