I know i posted another topic in emergencies but i'm hoping that i can get more help here too. Just now, when i went to go check on the eggs that i have been incubating, I found the heat source (a heat lamp) has blown out or something. I touched the eggs and they are cold! I can't see why though my house is incredibly warm. Help! I need a quick heat source. like really quickly, thanks.
Should i give up on the eggs? I really do not want to. If info is needed they are indian runner duck eggs.
Am I overreacting? Or is this like as big of a deal as i think it is?

Well yes, you have a reason to be worried.get another heat lamp as fast as possible! this can cause them to have curled toes, spraddle legs, lickily that is super easy to fix. just look it up and you will find your answers.
Good Luck!

Okay, I got a new bulb and is working perfectly!! It was only off for a few hours so is it really going to be that bad?!

From what I understand, eggs can go a few hours without a heat source and still hatch just fine. They might hatch a couple hours later than originally expected.

Oh okay that isn't that bad... and it was only like at most 5 hours because i couldn't find a new light

I think they'll be fine. How long have you been incubating them? You could always candle them?
It has only been since the 8th so about 5 days. I have candled them, saw a reddish spot in the eggs that did not move when i would turn the egg. No veins or anything so i will have to wait and see.
