I have two chicks that had an internal pip and I poked a hole to make sure there were still alive. They were! But the membrane stuff around them was very dry . I have them wrapped in a wet paper towel and they are fine . My question is how long will it take them to come out of the shell? Will they do it themselves or will I have to help!

Membrane was white . Is that normal now it's clear . I'm not sure when they pip I'm guessing no longer than yesterday

White or clear is OK. Brown or any others isn't. Make sure the nares are clear and then leave them be for a couple hours and recheck. Oh can you see veins?

I'm not sure on veins it's hard to see threw the window .
