Just what ever u do if they seem to stay standing on the snow to much they could get frost bite

The temps here get around 0 to -5 with windchills in the - teens

Ok. I would give them the option, but on those days I wouldn't be surprised if they choose to stay inside. It' gets pretty darn cold here and most people I know do not add any kind of heat. I do for the freezy cold days.

Most days mine choose to go out, but usually when we hit negatives they choose to stay inside or they venture out a few minutes at a time. Watch for frostbite on toes, combs, and wattles. I've read some people put vaseline on them to help prevent, but I've never done it so I don't know how well it works.

Thanks for all the advise. Oh by the way what are the signs of frostbite

Blistering(usually happens after frostbite has been warmed back up, discoloring, stiff, ice cold to touch idk what els

You'll see discoloring like bruise color (black/brown/purple?) It happened to my rooster on his comb. The tips fell off and he looks like he has a mohawk, but he's fine otherwise. We had a bad cold spell (-50) and he was going outside. This year he's been taking more cover already and we're at about 20 degrees today.

Thanks again, I will keep an eye out for that for sure.
