I woke up this morning to The usual chicken gang running out of the coop, but I only counted 11 out of 12. I freaked out and spent an hour looking for my other dominique. Afterwards, I looked back in the coop to find it in the corner dead. We buried it shortly after. It looked completely normal, but was dead! It was only a couple of months old so I'm worried my other chickens will get sick from whatever killed it. Please help! Much appreciated.

She might have just had something go wrong inside of her like a heat attack, seizure or something. If you couldn't find any wounds then it probably wasn't a predator. She could have been poisoned. Here is a link on plants that can be toxic to chickens https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/herbs-flowers-and-weeds-for-chickens

Good luck and again, sorry for your dominique!

So very sorry for your loss. Sometime chickens just die for no apparent reason. As long as the others remain healthy I wouldn't overthink the situation. Maybe she fell from the roost by accident.
