I have a BO now broody for several weeks on other hen's non fertilized eggs. She is showing signs of coming out of it, but every time I see her try to rejoin her "friends" , conflicts start and she goes back into a nest. Before the hormones hit her, she was 2nd highest in a flock of 6. I really want to try to help her get back into a normal routine, but know it is best I let them work it out. Is there anything I can do to help her become part of the gang again? I have been making sure she gets nutrition by hand feeding food, treats, water in the nest. Do you think I am reinforcing her nest sitting giving her this special attention? And possibly worsening the pecking order issues making the others jealous?

A post broody hen always has to regain her position in the pecking order. The flock behavior is not abnormal. Her reintegration will be a gradual thing. I think that 'jealousy' is an emotion primarily felt by humans.

Sunflour,
I am having the exact same problem. Last fall I went through the same thing until I discovered if I put her up on the roost after dark, she stayed and eventually snapped out of it, but that took about 3 or 4 nights of that routine. This time, it didn't work.
