Helping the Chick Hatch

I need to know how I help a chick hatch. Brief and to the point. Can someone explain it?

I only know the crude basics so hopeuflly someone will answer you besides me.
get a cup of warm water, some paper towls and a small hand towl ,
take the egg out of the bator and open it from the top air cell area , chip away small chips of shell at a time stoping if you see bleeding or droplets. keep the membrane moist,
Why are you doing this? How old are they ect if you help to early you could kill the chick but if it needs help it could save it its just a hard call to tell whats what sometimes

Oh know I already did it and it died. I was trying to defy nature beacause it hadn't even pipped and it turned out being permature. So I'm gonna restart it in a couple of days!

Sorry it died.

What day was that egg on? If it was your eggs that were on day 25 or so and it still looked premature....maybe it never developed right and there wasn't anything you could of done. Don't be hard on yourself, it happens.

Restart and try again sounds like a great idea.
