Hemp bedding

I am using old newspaper and cardboard for a little while now, it works well. It will come the day when there is no print out newspaper.......I might try sand when that happen, sand is cheaper, and look easier to clean up, especially summer when chickens eat too many water melons and the night poop is soupy:lau

I ordered hemp bedding through Amazon
Yes! I got the 44# Aubiose French hemp. I was going to go with just dirt in the run but the chicks were eroding the soil like crazy. I wasn’t yet ready to put the hemp inside the coop so I threw two bags of it in the run and I LOVE it!!! So easy to deal with. I just go out with them every day and kick hemp over the poop. No odor. Very clean. They seem to love it. Edges caught a bit of moisture when it rained and it dried very quickly. So happy with it. I’m convinced it’ll work well inside the coop.

I’m looking to convert my coop bedding from sand to hemp for the winter. Looking for recommendations on what brand to buy. I’m currently researching My Favorite Chicken vs Auboise. Anyone with experience have a brand they prefer? I was leaning toward the My Favorite Chicken with Dookash but it’s out of stock.
Thanks! I actually bought Auboise French hemp bedding off of Amazon. They sell it in 44 lb bulk bags. Highly rated and fairly reasonable pricing, as far as hemp goes. Lots of comments on the dust content being extremely low. If it doesn’t work out I’m willing to try another product, but I’d really like to do hemp in the coop asap. On the fence now regarding sand vs horse pellets vs current dirt situation for the run. I’m making myself crazy!
I use Hemptana bedding. My coop smells so much better and it literally has no dust. It lasts a lot longer too. I live in Montana, and a lot of farm and ranch retail stores carry it.
