Hi all! So I have a 3-year-old Golden Laced Wyandotte named Poppy and I’ve recently noticed that her face/cheeks are turning whiteish. I’m in New England and it gets very cold here (30 F during the day and below freezing at night) so I thought that maybe it was frostbite or something, but I wasn’t sure since every case of frostbite I’ve seen is when the tip of the comb turns blue/black.

Is this frostbite or something else? If it is frostbite, does anyone have any tips on how to treat this/how to prevent frostbite in the future?

Looks like a little dry skin. She's also a bit pale, which I would expect at her age and this time of year. She's probably not laying? Hormones are low during the shorter days of winter, as days get longer she will redden up and start laying again.

I have a 10 month old hen who is showing exactly the same whitish comb & wattles. I hope it is dry skin and not frostbite. She's molting now too.
