I re-homed my RI rooster back in April due to his over aggressive mating to my 10 hens. They had barred backs and wing damage. Some have molted since then and others have just grew in some feathers in their bare spots. I now have a welsummer hen that crows and does the rooster dance around the hens but it to is a hen, and I also have a RI hen that is mounting the other hens and now have feather damage starting again. What is going on, do I need to have a rooster or are RI just a very aggressive breed??

If you do not have a rooster a hen will start to act like a rooster. Totally normal. They have to have someone that "rules the roost" and it sounds like that is what she is doing. I have 6 RIRs and none of them are aggressive actually they are the friendliest onces I have. Hope this helps.
