Hi guys,

sorry I wasn't really sure where to post this. Yesterday my hens were out free ranging but when it was time for them to go back into their coop, my bluebell jumped on top of my LS and gripped her neck feathers with her beak. She was also balancing on my LS wings. The bluebell was also flapping her wings violently. My other two hens came charging out of the bushes - priceless

. And after about 10 seconds it stopped and they carried on minding their own business. By the way the bluebell lays eggs!

Any ideas what this was,

thanks

One of my hens gets on like a rooster sometimes, she would jump on the smaller ones etc. I just put it down to being "top" hen.... little miss bossy boots

It is most often the top chicken that will act like a rooster...but lower chickens can do it too. My BO, who is in the middle, did it for the longest time and was NOT happy when I got a rooster.

When my hens did this I thought she was a he in disguise. Or mayb lesbian. Lol no seriously sometimes hens do this to show dominance. Its that "im the boss thing".
