I have a white leghorn that was rescued from an egg farm about 3 years ago.
She was 2 1/2 when I got her, so this year she will be 5.
A couple of days ago I noticed she had trouble jumping onto the ramp into the coop.
Then I saw that she was walking funny, keeping her tail down almost dragging it, and standing like a vulture with her shoulders up and head down.
When I picked her up, it seems she feels swollen and as if there is fluid in her lower half.
Ive been keeping a heat lamp on for her, although the weather here in CA is in the mid 70's.
Im afraid to do too much to her for fear of stressing her out!
If it isnt an egg issue, can anyone offer suggestions?
She is eating and drinking, and wanders around but looks like she doesnt feel good.
Thanks for any help!
