Hi, My Lily ate some air gun pellets and died a few days ago. My husband and friend checked her intestines and found about a dozen pellets along with two small screws. I'm wondering if her eggs as well as the other 3 hens eggs are contaminated with lead. The other hens show no sign of being sick.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
The pellets were likely not in her system long enough to get into the eggs. But if you are concerned, you could toss whatever she laid if you know which are hers.
How did she get access to the pellets? Would the others have had access as well?

Sorry about your loss.

Thank you. Yes, the pellets are lead. I'm not sure if the other 3 hens have eaten pellets.
Also, two of the hens have gotten a little mean to the third hen since Lily died. They pick on her when I put them back in the coop for the night.
