This morning I let the chickens out of their pen and one has a bloody wound on her her feathers are missing and not sure what I can do to help her. Eating good and no sickness but don't want infection. Please advise

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! Sorry about your hen, you'll want to post in the Emergencies forum about her, with pictures if you can or describe the wound you are dealing with https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/10/emergencies-diseases-injuries-and-cures For now, separate her from the other hens if you can, chickens tend to pick on wounds and may make them worse. Do you know what happened (was it the other hens who did it, or did you have a predator get in?)

@Kelsie2290 has given you some good advice, post all the details and a photo over on the emergency/illness forum and get some help for your girl. I hope she'll be ok.

Good luck to you and your bird, thanks for joining us!

Its been a busy week with the human kind. Lots of hospital visits so my girls (10 all together) are feeling a little unloved. They are free range by day locked up by night. We live in woods with two creeks. They are spoiled. They knock on the glass doors when they want something and will take to food/water dishes etc..... Crazy birds

the beat up one is almost healed. Betadine watered WAY down did wonders. Alpha bir noodles (all named after food) and I had a talk. She hasn't picked her since. Kids call me chicken whisperer. Lol. Anyone else have such personalized foul pets???? Would love to know
