So I have four chicken, a red frizzle cochin, an Americana, a black polish and a buff Orpington. They’ve been raised together since they were chicks and now they’re all about 20 weeks old. Only my frizzle is laying and she has been for the last two weeks now with laying an egg every day. Small brown eggs which is expected.
However I started noticing that she doesn’t really hangout with the other three. They do their own thing and she does hers. But I noticed today that my polish ran up on her in an aggressive manner and my frizzle almost bent down and raised her butt. Like she laid low. It’s been confirmed they’re all girls from prior posts of mine but is this normal hen behavior?

When my girls were younger, they would do this. I think it has something to do with the pecking order. II gave on of my Golden Coocoo Marans a nick name "Mean Charolette" because she did this to the other girls. Although the pecking order does change as they age.

That’s what I thought too. When they were younger and growing my three girls, not the frizzle, would try to prove they were bigger than the other. If one jumped up someplace they all had to. If one could jump higher then they all had to.
