I have a 7 year old hen, and today I noticed that she's breathing a little heavy. She's not gasping or anything. As far as I can tell, her mouth isn't opening. But her wattles are kind of going in and out with every breath. Otherwise she seems totally fine. She's active, talkative, eating and drinking normally, and there's no discharge from her nose.
The problem is that I'm going on vacation tomorrow morning, and I'm going to be gone for a week. Is this something I should be worried about?

She is getting fairly old. Do you have someone watching her and your others while you will be gone? Is she overweight or does her lower belly between her legs seem enlarged? I doubt if there is much you can do or need to do if she is eating and drinking, and seems active. I always worry about pets and livestock while I go anywhere.

Yes, I have a friend coming to check up on them regularly. I've asked her to keep an eye on that hen and send me a video of her so I can see how she's doing.
She's not overweight, and I don't feel anything abnormal. I checked her crop too, just in case, but that was fine too.
I'm going to be a nervous wreck worrying about her and all my other animals. This is why I don't travel often. 😅 But as long as there's nothing I can/should do I guess I'll just have to see what happens. Thanks for your advice!
