My son brought a poult home so we've had 1 Hen Turkey amongst our chicken flock for about 8 months, she's extremely docile and sweet, loads up and rides n the truck like a dog, and comes in the house lol. She's very spoiled to say the least. Well we got her a Ton who's about 14 months old and she keeps bullying him all day everyday day, the fighting is way more than just regular hanging out and free ranging like all our birds do all day. Is there something I'm doing wrong? How long will the fighting continue? I'm letting them fight it out most of the time unless it just looks to brutal for me and I break them up but I'm literally on yard patrol all day because I don't want her getting hurt and this is the first Tom she's ever even seen much less been in contact with. I'm a new turkey owner if ya couldn't tell lol need some advice, tips, tricks....anything to help please??!!
Thanks.....Kandace E.

I'm sure you will get some very good advice but if I'm guessing your hen may not realize she's a turkey. If she's been living with chickens she may now think she's a chicken. She may be "defending" the rest of her flock from this new odd ball. Just a guess as I'm new.

It's a dominance issue. The more you interfere, the longer it will take for them to settle their differences.

I had a trio with a dominant hen. When the tom got mature enough to challenge her position in the pecking order, they fought all day long for 3 days straight before they got things settled.

Thanks for the help y'all....thankfully they settled down fairly quickly.and I think she's at least figured out she's not a chicken🤣....Sweet T (my Tom) is still strutting and drumming and putting on a show to get her attention now that's she's being nice to him a little but she couldn't care less lol.
