My BLR Wyandotte hen has been acting weird lately. She’s not broody, I don’t think she’s ever hatched chicks before either. Our rooster, a BCM named Twix, tidbits regularly. (Literally anytime he finds food.) Recently, this hen has started calling the flock (or imaginary chicks idk) to food. It sounds JUST like a mother hen calling her babies to food. She will also pick up the food and drop it over and over. This hen has always been a little strange… noisy (like tyrodactal noisy sounds) and I think she’s pretty high in the pecking order, but I don’t think she’s lead hen. The rooster keep the fights down in the flock so there’s not too much bickering. Anyone know why she’s doing this, or is she just delusional? Here is a pic of her.
