Hen died

We have 3 red sex link hens. They hatched in March and Ms Lucy has been laying over a month. The eggs were small the first few days, but have been about 2 Oz since. Today she laid an XL (2.75 oz) and fell over dead. Is this typical? We are obviously new at this.

It is not typical, but it happens. The egg and the death were likely unrelated. If any of the others do the same, then you can start trying to diagnose it.
