We've got one (of three) Americauna (beautiful bird!) who's 13 months old and has only just, we think, begun to lay eggs, maybe. It was only about a month ago that she started doing "the squat" that the others started doing when they started laying. Once we found three green eggs in one day. She likes to watch the other hens in the nest boxes. She's not egg bound or an internal layer since she's very healthy and happy. She's smaller than the rest of the birds. No spurs, so not a rooster, although she does have bumps on her legs that are larger than the others. She's a mystery. Any thoughts? Similar experiences?

Some birds just take longer to start laying and getting into the swing of things and some birds just don't lay as often as others, even when comparing two of the same breed. It is what it is, I would give her some time to work it out. Good luck
