Our two year old hen Cocoa has fallen asleep on the ground. I heard her breathing heavily
We have had a heat wave here in Southern CA for the past few days but our other chicken has been acting normal.

Cocoa has been acting lethargic, not eating since two days ago, and not leaving the coop area, but we syringe fed her some yogurt and water last night.

Yesterday, when we brought her out of the coop, a small egg dropped from her. She has not been laying during this heat wave. This morning I noticed three green/yellow runny poops from her

we just finished treating for gapeworm with Safeguard, but we dosed her for 5 days and repeated after a week. I only now realized that that was too much.

She was standing this morning but has gotten worse throughout the day
as I was writing this, she called out and flapped her wings, and she now in this position

Is there anything that we could do for her? Thanks

I am so sorry your bird is so ill.

You most likely were not seeing gapeworms to begin with but you were probably seeing a respiratory disease/her not being able to breathe.

How much Safeguard did you use?

It is extremely easy to squirt stuff down the wrong pipe, so to speak, of the bird's mouth and in doing so you can easily kill a bird with just a drop or two of liquid down the wrong pipe.

0.9 mL and she is 2kg

I think I did that, as a few times after we dosed her, she made choking sounds for a few minutes

Thank you, Kiki
