Hen found dead on nest!

My hens have various nesting spots (other than their boxes) and I found a hen this afternoon on her nest dead. I saw her in there this morning, but it could've been another hen as I have 7 that look the same. She had not laid an egg, none of my girls have ever been sick, they are free range birds, alwaysbright eyed and very active. Her body is stiff and her head is arched back onto her body with eyes closed. She appears healthy and to be sleeping (other than the awkward position of her neck)

Maybe she was egg bound?

I'd send her off for a necropsy or do one myself, they're very easy to do and something egg related is easy to recognize.

I've never done it myself lol so I wouldn't know .. Keep us updated though
