Hen giving up after 21 days

Geraldine gave up on her eggs today, she has stopped stitting on them.

it was 21 days last night at 8pm ..... when i candled them 6 days ago they were alive and moving. because she gave up we have moved them inside with a heat lamp and water spray, the best we can do as we did not know she would give up.

we thought they might be dead so we candled them ( though i know we are not ment to ) & there is alot of black, a web page said this was good. one egg has a VERY BIG air pocket... what does this mean?

can we help them at all??? ideas????

my boy friend is cheeping at them because he read that helps it is so cute .... but we can;t here or see anything back

Just do your best to keep the temps right and humidity high. The humidity is important right now. Also, I would leave an egg (not one with a bird in it) in the nest, she may go back.

Guess she figure she gave them their rightful time and shes out. I felt that way at 40weeks of pregnancy too, but both my kids stayed in late anyway!

she was meant to be their mum too so now we will have to bring them up inside .... how things change over night!!!!

they are not moving or anything .... by now i thought they would be moving or something to let us know they want to hatch

You dont nessecarily see them move. Remember, they could even be a day late. Like I said the humidity is very very important now. And who knows, mayb mom will change her mind if you give her an opportunity to. How long as she been off the nest? WHat is the temperature where you are?

she got off then in the morning and did not go back to them all day so we are keeping them inside. over night nothing has happened.

how can we get the humidity up more?? any ideas are great, we r not doing well!!!

it is winter here so about 5 at night and 22 days, it does not snow where i live.

when do we giv up, at 28 days???

the two eggs died

it looks like they must have died on day 21 when we were at work and she left them all day .... and then we put them inside to heat up again and to much change killed them
