Hen has balls of mud on claws

My hen has big balls of mud on the end of each, not every claw/nail. She's been cooped up with her chicks for 3 weeks and it's been awfully wet around here, I'm not sure why it happened. The other girls are fine. I don't know how to remove the mud, it's a very hard ball. I let her out with them to the main coop while the others are shut up in the garden hoping some more scratching will dislodge them. Any suggestions on how to dissolve mud?

It should fall off on its on with use, like you thought. If not. Stand her in some water covering her feet. Soaking should soften then balls and make them take off easy.
