Hen has splayed legs,and between her legs is swollen whats wrong?

My 3 year old barred rock is alert and eats and drinks but cant walk... I dont know whats wrong and i dont know to help her! what do i do!?

Sounds like she could be eggbound. You might try looking up some old threads on the search at the top of the page.

Please re-post this as "Help my chicken is egg bound," since splayed legs might not get the fast help you need. Most of the old posts I read suggest a warm bath while holding the chicken's bottom down. Then you can try to insert a gloved finger lubricated with olive oil into her vent and feel gently for an egg. Gingerly try to remove it if there is one present. The danger is if an egg breaks in there, so be careful. Sometimes just the warm bath will help them to expel it. Good luck.
