I went to check on my chickens this morning and when I when to check on my broody hen who is setting on a clutch of eggs that have different hatch dates. She had just got up to eat and ect. when I saw a chick fall out from under her it must have been under her wing. The problem is when the chick when to get back into the nest with momma hen the hen started pecking the chick. I even tryed picking up the chick and putting it back under her and she still started pecking at it. The didn't seem to realize it was her chick when it feel out from under her wing. she just looked at it and went back to her nest. I brought it down to the house with me. I am wondering if that was the right thing to do?
