Hi all! I've noticed some similar threads about what seems to be the same situation with others hens. But I figured if post anyways incase it's different.
Yesterday I noticed that my 18wk old hen was walking funny and very wobbly.
She is eating and drink ok and doesn't seem to have lost her appetite. However she doesn't seem to want to walk and when she does she's wobbly and uses her wings to balance herself. I have also noticed that at times she keeps her "thumbs" tucked in. She did stand for about 5 mins straight earlier and drank water until she got startled and stumbled and sat down. When she sits she is putting all her weight forward and sticking her tail up towards her head. She was also ruffled up.
I actually just went and checked on her and she was walking around a lot better and trying to get out of her isolation pen to go with the rest to roost. But she was kind of walking pigeon toed and would rock forward every now and then.
I haven't seen her pass any poop except for a tiny bit about the size of a pea or smaller. From what I could see it looked normal.
I live in Texas and its started getting pretty hot. Did she get dehydrated? Does she have an impaction or something else?
She isn't laying yet so she is still on grower and I have been putting vitamins and electrolytes in their water.
Anyone know what's going on?
