hen just hatched chicks! can they eat laying hen feed?

One of my broody chickens just hatched a few chicks in my coop. Since i have no way of separating there food can they eat laying hen feed? My last chicks that i ordered through the mall ate laying hen feed at 2 months because i raised them in a cage and once they got to big i moved them in with the laying hen girls.

I am not asking if this is recommenced more if they will live eating it

If you can get some extra protein into them it would help. Growing chicks need the extra protein.
