My hen laid her first ever egg! It’s a double yolker:)

It happens sometimes with the new layers, just takes a minute for everything to work out, you might get some funky eggs. Congrats on the first egg!!!
 
Not surprising with a new layer, especially a high production cross.
You'll probably see more of those.

FYI-PSA.....semantics, maybe, but can be important communication terms when discussing chicken behavior.
Female chickens are called pullets until one year of age, then they are called hens.
Male chickens are called cockerels until one year of age, then they are called cocks(or cockbirds or roosters).
Age in weeks or months is always a good thing to note.

Agreed! I was just so excited. I thought girls were pullets until they started laying..hm thanks for telling me!
