Hen left the nest for 4 hours...are the eggs still good?

I mistakenly shut up a brood hen in the barn for 4 hours before I found her. It was a cool evening...between 4 and 8 pm. Are the eggs still good? (She's been on them for about 3 days.)

They are probably fine. In reality those little embryos are quite tough. Candle at about 7 days or so to make sure.

Thank you. that gives me hope. I came home last night and was almost in tears. I drove 4 hours to get those eggs (they are barnevelder eggs).

As Sourland said, they should be fine. Accidents happen-- we have all done something to compromise a hatch, so you are not alone on that score!! GOOD LUCK!
