My bantam hen in gone. She's been missing since sometime Sunday. She's been hiding her eggs (or not laying) for a couple weeks now. She's the only one missing. I'm thinking if it was a predator he would have come back for seconds, wouldn't he? I see no evidence of an attack. All the other birds are accounted for. It could have been a hawk, I've seen one frequenting our neighborhood, but not recently. But if it were a hawk, wouldn't the other birds have at least been nervous at some point? I have no experience with broody hens. Is this normal behavior for a hen hiding a nest? It was her mother that hatched her, so I know she has broody genes.
What do you think? Broody, or eaten? 0.o

That's what I thought. So I'll watch for her. If she shows up, great, if not, it's not like we were getting eggs from her anyways. I hope she comes out with a trail of babies behind her. :)

She showed up today. She took a drink, ate some, and then disappeared again. I guess she's hatching me out some babies. :)
