Hen not eating

We have a year old Fayoumi hen that is losing tons of feathers (possibly molting? and she isn't eating her food. We were wondering what we should do to help her. Any help is greatly appreciated!! Thank you!

Have you tried offering any of her favorite treats, just a small amount?
Plain yogurt maybe? What kind of feed are you feeding her?

Is she drinking water? Do you add anything, like ACV, to the water?

Maybe she might have an impacted or sour crop. How are her poops?

She ate a small amount of yogurt, some tomatoes, a few cranberries, and carrots. But she won't eat her feed. (Egg layer) As far as I can tell, she isn't drinking water so we give it to her in a syringe. We added some vitamins to her water, but that is it. The droppings that I see on the pine shavings are normal, but yesterday when I was feeding her some carrots she pooed just liquid. I hope she gets better. Also, she had 3 tail feathers and yesterday they all fell out. She has a bunch of stalks for new feathers around that area, but somehow all tail feathers falling out, seems weird.

Hi Cass,

You can put 50% Pedialyte in the water if you think she is dehydrated (or even Gatorade in a pinch).

Crumbled up hard-boiled egg will usually temp a bird to eat. They need extra protein when they are molting.

Yay!! I was giving her Gatorade and she liked it so much she strated pecking at the syringe! And she ate some cheese too!! Lets hope it keeps going this way!!!
