A month or so ago, I took a five or six year old silver leghorn hen home who was being picked on and bloodied. She was malnurished and weak. The wounds on her head healed up just fine now and her feathers are growing back in, but she still seems just as weak as she was then. She'll eat and drink just fine, but whenever I check, her crop is always empty and her comb is still very pale. I put a preventative dose of Corid in her water last week and dusted her with seven a couple times. This week I'm putting ACV in her water. She hasn't laid since I got her, but there's no swelling, she's just really boney. Her breathing is loud enough to where I can here it if it's quiet, but it's not raspy at all. Treating for worms will be the next thing I try. Does it sound like that's what it is?

Can you collect fresh poop and run it to a vet's office to get it tested for worms?

What do you feed her?

I've been treating her with dewormer, but she hasn't shown any improvement.
She eats layer feed.
What dewormer and what dose did you use?
is she eating the layer feed well?
You could try to offer her a grower feed (higher protein) to help get weight on her.

Can you post a picture of her?

You said you gave her a preventative dose of corvid? How long did you treat her for cocci? Usually..1st things I suspect w/a skinny hen is cocci..i will put them on the full treatment..then follow up afterwards w vitamins/probiotics. Where you giving vitamins while treating for cocci? Vitamins will nullify cocci treatment. I also like to feed mashed up scrambled eggs w a bit of corn oil to help get thier weight up.
