Hi everybody. So we have a hen who is lost a bunch of fathers due to our old rooster. He was dispatched about 3 months ago, and she has not been able to grow her feathers back. We also have noticed that she has not been laying for several months as well. She was the old roosters favorite, and as far as I can tell the new rooster leaves her alone. She is also the oldest hen in the coop.(1.5 years old).
Is there anything that we can or should be doing for her? We also have a couple of Barred rocks that also lost feathers to the old rooster and they have not grown back as well. Thanks in advance!

I agree with @sourland. Chickens typically only molt when the days start to get shorter. A broody hen may go through a "light molt" after rearing chicks. I've rescued some ex-battery (commercial hens) who were highly stressed and very sick, and they molted as well, so I think traumatic events can trigger a molt. However, and unfortunately, missing saddle feathers from an overly-attentive rooster don't grow back until a regular old molt :(

"Overly-attentive rooster" 🤣 He was a straight up jerk. Seriously though, thank you for the quick replies. Other then the missing feathers she seems okay and none of the other hens mess with her. So I guess we'll just wait and see what happens in the fall.
