So before my husband got home from TSC with the medicine, our Penny had died. Should will go ahead and treat our other 2 girls with the antibiotic to hedge our bet? They seem fine, but until yesterday Penny did too!

I'm so sorry for your loss

If you still have Penny, you may want to have a necropsy done to determine what the cause of death was. That's the only way that you will know for certain. Chickens are prey animals and Penny has probably been sick for awhile and like all prey animals just didn't show it until it was too late.
