New to the chicken world. I have a lavendar Orpington chicken and I think it’s about 9 weeks maybe. Do these look like saddle feathers? I can’t have roosters but it has been chest bumping my other suspected cockerel that is getting regimes today. I’ll be so sad if it is.

Both male and female chicken have saddle feathers but male specific saddle feathers won't come in until about 13-15 weeks. The comb and wattles are a better indicator at this age.

Pullets can chest bump each other a lot, too. The feathers look the way they do on your lavender because of genetics (bad feather type typically comes with the color). I never go by feathers with young chickens. Instead I will look at the comb, wattles, size in comparison to the others, and behavior together.

Though no worries, yours is a pullet.

I so hope it is. I really don’t want to get rid of that one . My other is a crested polish on the second picture it’s the one in the back. It looks like the tail is starting to curve

I am not very familiar with the Polish breeds, so I can't be too sure with this one. My first impression is cockerel, however, just because of his posture and size difference.
