So I'm a new chicken mom and I was wondering why one has a wattle and a comb and the other does not. They are both the same age? I guess that's why I thought one was a roo. Both are pullets.
One has a single comb and the other has a rose comb. Rose combs are the standard for Wyandottes but occasionally you will get one with a single comb.So I'm a new chicken mom and I was wondering why one has a wattle and a comb and the other does not. I bought two hens or so I thought lol
Yes. She has a bigger comb than most other pullets do at this age, but it is still fairly pink. Males would also have more white coming in around the shoulders and you would start to see male hackle and saddle feathers growing in.Thank you. So if their comb is fuller is that the identifier for being a rooster?
