I have 3 Black Sex Links about 14 weeks old and a little worried about the tail feathers on two of them. Attaching pictures of 2 of the three of them. Loved to have your thoughts

Two of them look like the first picture and the other one looks like the second.

100% both pullets. “Sex-linked” means you can tell the sex at hatch. This is done by crossing a barred rock with a non-barred. The cockerels will have a spot on their head and grow up to have some barring. The pullets will have no barring. Also with any breed you cannot go by the tail feathers. Different breeds have different tail structure/shapes. For non sex linked breeds you go by saddle, hackle, comb and wattles.

Thank you - that's great information. This is my first time with this breed, and also the first time I impulsively obtained instead of researching first. I appreciate your detailed reply.
