Well, I asked for a barred plymoth pullet, but I think I got a clerk that didn't know anything about chickens.
The black bird in the following pictures is about 3 months old, and while obviously not done growing, is nearly as big as my grown rock and australorps. I'm hopping it is a jersy giant pullet. But it's tail is looking awefully long and curvy. And it is huge.
I'd really like to keep it, but roosters are not an option in our neighborhood. It and the brown hen I raised with it are the friendliest birds i've had yet. If you sit in the yard, they will come and snuggle up next to you, or perch on you.
Verdict?
